The Iranian Revolution was the Islamic Revolution which was supported by various islamist and left organisation and student movements that replaced the monarchy of Shah Mohammed Pahlavi with a theocracy led by Aytollah Khomeini.It was an event that culminated the overthrow of Pahlavi dynasty under the Shah who was supported by the United States.It was the continuous cause of the historical debate and have believed that stemmed partly from conservative backlash opposing the modernisation and westernisation efforts of the backed Shah.The revolution led to the establishment of the parliament and the approval of the first constitution.
