All Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board(“TSLB”) sponsored students are to take note of the following (in case the classes for Semester 2 & Quarter 3, 2020 continue to be conducted/offered online) in relation to the above subject:
1. Prior written approval from TSLB must be obtained before any student moves to the hostel facilities at any Local Higher Education Institutions or rented properties for Semester 2 & Quarter 3, 2020. This includes students who are currently renting or staying in hostel facilities or any student who wishes to start renting or staying in hostel facilities from Semester 2 & Quarter 3, 2020.
2. To obtain the written approval from TSLB, students must follow the procedures detailed below:
i. Download TSLB Form 04 from TSLB website www.tslb.com.fj and complete the same. In the form select application for allowances and tick hostel/rent.
ii. In case you are intending to rent, you must submit a new FRCS stamped rent agreement.
iii. In case you are intending to stay in a hostel, you need to submit provisional offer letter from the institution.
iv. Students on clinical/industrial attachment who are required to either stay in the hostel or rent to complete the same, must produce a supporting letter from the Higher Education Institution.
v. You also need to submit with your application a letter of request detailing the following:
a) The permanent place of residence of the student; and
b) The genuine reason as to why the student needs to rent or stay in the hostel despite the classes being offered/conducted online.
vi. Completed application with the required documents must be emailed to customerservices@tslb.com.fj
3. The applications will be reviewed in line with the COVID-19 restrictions (if any) that may be in place during Semester 2 & Quarter 3, 2020 as well as the mode of teaching and learning available for the students.
4. Any approval granted by TSLB will be issued to the students a week prior to the commencement of classes for Semester 2 & Quarter 3, 2020. Written approvals will be emailed to the students on the email address provided by the student in Form TSLB 04 as submitted to TSLB.
