Revolution in simple term is the demolished of Monarchy state of government by the republic or the people. Therefore by 1914 to 1978, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi a close partner of the United State had rule Iran. He modernized Iran while forcefully suppressing dissent and political freedoms. The clergy opposed the Shahs social and economic reforms while discontent grew until, in 1978, anti-shah demonstration spread across the mostly Shias country. As strikes and mass protests erupted and accusation flew that the Shah was a US puppet. Hence on January 16, 1978, the Shah left Iran for what was officially a vacation but never returned followed by the news of his death 13 months later. Thus finally on February 11, 1979, revolutionaries declared victory after Irans demobilized armed forces and declared neutrality, where the monarchy has suddenly vanished from the face of Iran till the 21st century.
