From one point of view, the bombing of the pearl harbour triggered the US forming nuclear weapon to seize Japan from its rising power over the world and the damages it caused in 1945. This action shocked the Soviet Union and also encourage them sending spies to spy on the US for their own benefit forming a nuclear weapon of their own. Upon realising their first weapon the USA was more than happy to realise the next weapon and the trend continues as these two countries compete not only for power but to conquer areas of Eastern Europe.
The nuclear arms race, however, is the race of the use of this such deadly weapon to seize and conquer areas of interest between USA and USSR. Which also encourages neighbouring countries to take part in this race. Which resulted in the fall of economic progress after WW2 and political disturbance of every nation from 1990 till the 21st century.
