Free and confidential screening for both male and female students and staff, aged 18-39 years.

Date: Monday 4 April 2022
Venue: Nasinu UniClinic
Screenings will follow on Mondays of the first and third week of each month.

What is Chlamydia?
It is a common sexually transmitted disease in both males and females, caused by a bacteria called Chlamydia trachomatis. It is most commonly spread through vaginal, oral and anal sex.

Screening includes:

  • STI Screening for Gonorrhea, Syphilis and Trichomonas infections.
  • Pap Smear Open to female staff and students.

Conducted by a 3-member team from the Children’s Global Health Initiative of the University of California, San Francisco, in collaboration with The Ministry of Health and the UniClinic. It is the only such screening of its type in Fiji for Chlamydia. The team have been conducting screenings at FNU, USP, the Sexual Health and Reproductive Clinic (The Hub) and other Government Health Centers within the Central Division.

All students who are sexually active are encouraged to take advantage of this free screening. Drop in at the Nasinu UniClinic on the first and third Monday of every month.
