Study of veterinary gynaecology, andrology and reproductive techniques including: study of the female reproductive system of domestic animals in health and disease with focus on the ovarian cycle and fertilization; hormones of the estrous cycle, pregnancy and lactation; maternal-foetal placental participation in pregnancy and parturition; fertility, infertility, sterility and embryonic mortality; endometritis, cervicitis, vaginitis. Reproductive health and breeding management including in small animals mismating, pseudopregnancy and transmissible venereal tumor-(TVT); induction and synchronization of estrus; embryo transfer technology. Study of male reproductive system (andrology) including development of male genitalia and gonads, sexual maturity, and sexual behaviour; spermatogenic cycle; testosterone function.
Male infertility: causes, diagnosis and treatment. Male reproductive injury and diseases including: coital injuries; testicular hypoplasia, cryptorchidism. Artificial insemination (A.I.) procedures including semen collection and evaluation in various species; extension, preservation and shipment of semen. Uses of androgens, progestogens, estrogens.
