This unit will explore the four phases of the guest cycle and the various types of transactions and services involved in each phase. It examine the major activity in reservation [ Pre Arrival Phase] and is usually the first occasion when the guest and hotel interact. A reservation in the context of the Front Office of a hotel means the booking or reserving of an accommodation by a guest, and involves a particular type of guest – room being reserved for a particular person or persons, for a certain period of time.
