The independent supervised research project is a designed to allow students the experience to experience the research process in all its stages. This is the second CORE course in the SOE’s Post graduate Diploma Program and it serves as important first step to Higher Degrees in Education. It provides the candidates with skills, knowledge and experience to strengthen intellectual, ethical, and practical skills. This is the preparation to their specialization in the Masters of Education program.
The candidate has some autonomy and is expected to drive their own work with the guidance of a supervisor. The project follows all steps of the research process and will culminate in the final written project of 10,000 words inclusive of references.
In an overarching manner the project aims to address some of the pertinent issues and challenges as identified by the MOE and literature in Fiji as well as those in the Pacific is region.
