This Unit deals with applying knowledge and skills in music including music literacy, creativity in music, voice-craft and stage craft in the process of planning, preparation and presentation of music education programmes in schools, through study of music pedagogy and the curriculum. It also encourages the student teachers to appreciate the importance of music in providing holistic education to children. The students will be encouraged to appraise the aesthetic, therapeutic and spiritual benefits of music while engaging with music in a variety of ways, and in a range of environmental, social, cultural and historical contexts.
