The purpose of this unit is to provide details of the diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases of different parts and organs of various anatomical regions of animals. This includes: of the head and neck region surgical disease of lips, cheek, tongue, cleft palate, nose, guttural pouch, sinus, horn, teeth, salivary glands, jaw, ear, eye, esophagus, trachea, pharynx and larynx & in the thorax and abdomen; disease of ribs & sternum, thorax, pericardium, stomach, intestines, caecum, colon, rectum, anus, urogenital organs, udder and teat and mammary gland. Surgical procedures of dehorning, de-budding, ligation of Stenson’s duct, tooth rasping, ear hematoma, ectropion and entropion, enucleation of the eye, oesophagotomy, tracheotomy and tracheostomy, thoracocentesis and abdominocentesis, gastrostomy, rumenotomy, enterotomy, enteroanastomosis, castration, vasectomy, urethrotomy, cystotomy, cystorrhaphy, ovariohysterectomy, cesarean section and amputation of tail are detailed.
