Professional Communication refers to communication carried out in a professional field (Dale, C. 2009). For example, an engineer and a trainee engineer can communicate with each other using jargons of the subject -specific discipline. Both are specialists and could be described as expert professional communicators in their field. Professional communication, whether oral or written involves conventions and expectations specific to a specialized field, and must be on par with workplace standards. Hence, acquiring relevant and appropriate work-place and context-specific skills and knowledge in professional communication is imperative for excellence and success in any organization or industry. Founded on this belief, themes, topics and learning activities for each week are carefully selected and designed on the intention of exposing and preparing students for professional communication skills and knowledge in real-life work scenarios. Tasks would be more need and problem-based, designed to cater for specific disciplines.
