The course is designed for students to learn the diseases and develop competencies in the medical nutrition therapy. A core role of the Dietitian in the clinical setting is to be able to develop specific dietary strategies appropriate to the diseases. An essential component of the course is the basic understanding of the pathophysiology of diseases that require clinical care management and to align the role of nutritional support in patient management. Students will be able to plan and modify specific diets, select proper foods and their consistency, texture and estimate the appropriate quantity of ingredients and administration with the timing of feedings. Continual monitoring and evaluation of the plan is also an essential part of MNT.
