This unit offers project’s scoping in new and existing buildings and explains and establishes responsibilities for settings up procedures and boundaries for scoping & preliminary design. Scoping provides a solid base leads to better decision making in everything from budgets to management plans, transportation projects, preliminary design is an important key to time-effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and environmental responsibility. Clarifying the parameters of acceptable preliminary design activities, a much wider range of efficiencies can be incorporated in planning. Identification of client brief and needs, together with advice by consultants to the clients on the most advantageous outcomes, are important additional functions.
