Cold war reffers to the period of ideological confrontation, conflicts, tension, hostility, rivalry, competition between the communist nations led by the soviet union and the democratic nations led by the united states. These begins immediately after the world war two end and the collapse of soviet union in early 1990s.It was known as cold war becaue there was no actual war between united states military and the soviet military. Ideologically speaking, the two supperpowers represent two opposing system of government. united states followed a cappitalist system of government where people are following a democratic system. The soviets follows communist system of government where the citizens does not present them self in an election or they simply dont enjoy the right of assembly, speech and of the press. Secondly, economically speaking the united states wanted to encourage free trade throughout the world whereas the soviets wanted to shield off her own sphere from international commerce. Politically, after the end of world war two with decline in europe, power was largely shared between the soviet union and the united states. Both wanted to dominate the other, and conflicts were inevitable.
