The Pharmacy Practice course is offered to pharmacy students in their 4th year of study and has 3 major components which are theory, laboratory and industry attachment.This course is an extension of year 3 pharmacy practice and introduces students to the concepts of evidence based practice and develops their critical literature appraisal skills. This course prepares the student to apply knowledge from pharmaco-therapeutics, pharmacology and pharmaceutics to achieve better health outcomes for patients. It also enables students to develop their communication skills in practical laboratory and viva sessions and also through experiential learning at their respective community and hospital pharmacy attachmnet sites.This course focuses on health maintenance and self-care, patient assessment and triage, counseling related to non-prescription medications, interpretation of common clinical laboratory tests and using the medical literature to guide pharmaceutical care, and problem-based patient presentation
