This course will assist students in understanding the imaging process as a sequence of events from x-ray production to image processing via conventional and digital systems. It will provide students with an overview of the physics of radiation, instrumentation, electrical principles and operation of imaging systems. The course will also provide a detailed study of factors that affect image acquisition, display, storage and retrieval in Computed and Digital Radiography and emphasize on problem solving and quality assurance testing for evaluating the performance of these systems.
