This unit will provide practical experience to the students. The duration of this attachment/training will be for three (3) months to enable students develop more skill in their various livestock sectors and providing additional opportunity for students to do hands on livestock farm. Students are supervised during the training period and are expected to keep log-books and other records designed for the purpose of monitoring their performance. As a result of successfully completing this unit students will be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of skill in general livestock management practices including branding, castration, dehorning, fencing, pasture management, body condition scoring of heifers and cows, management of heifers and cows during breeding season, milking and milk handling, management of pigs from breeding till slaughter, management of sheep and goat, management of laying and meat birds.
