The course will provide students with the opportunity to develop their understanding of some biological aspects of reproductive anatomy, endocrinology and interaction of physiological systems in livestock production. Participates taking the course should be able to make comparative differences and similarities in reproductive physiology between livestock species. Selected reproductive technologies (cryopreservation, estrus synchronization, multiple ovulation and embryo transfer [MOET], artificial insemination [AI}) available commercially and for research purposes; advantages and limitations for their use in different livestock species are reviewed.
