EPI 826 is designed to provide you the opportunity to develop and apply the core competencies for analysing and reporting on a dataset from a health information system considered a priority by your workplace supervisor. By the end of the course you will generate an information product (report or infographic) based on the analysis of a dataset from health information system (HIS) considered a priority by your workplace supervisor. The course is aimed at health department staff responsible for managing or utilising data in health information systems, and could include data officers, nurses, doctors, allied health staff as well as program and senior managers. Staff will enrol in the course while based in hospitals, primary health care centres, community health centres, public health programs, pathology laboratories, pharmacies, or statistics offices. The course consists of 5 modules implemented across two semesters in a full time study mode and two years in a part time study mode. Each module is aimed at developing a set of relevant competencies to be demonstrated by generating specific outputs with the active support of your mentor (FNU Adjunct Faculty Member) and your workplace supervisor. Students must attain a passing grade for each of the five modules in order to pass the overall course.
