This course introduces writing conventions for advertising and public relations, including writing media releases, media and public relations campaigns, communication strategies, and advertising for a range of media distribution. The different writing styles for each of these communication types will be explored, as well as how to identify, and meet, client expectations/needs. Ethical and legal issues, and market research and sponsorship will be addressed. Students will be given opportunities to improve their abilities to critically assess their own writing, and the writing of others.
